WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF VISA APPLICATION?

Step 1. Complete Visa application form DS160

Visa application (form DS160) must be completed online, over the internet. You can complete the application at Dept of State website.

After successfully completing the application, you will receive a confirmation with a 10-digit barcode. Take a printout of this page. This will be needed for setting up your visa interview appointment.

Step 2. Complete the online application

After filling up the DS 160 form you will need to fill the form by logging to https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=India site and will need to fill in the correct details. At the completion of the form you will have an option of downloading the form to pay the visa fees in different options

 

Step 3. Pay the visa application fee

The fee can be paid either electronically as a bank transfer or in cash at designated Citibank or Axis bank branches throughout the India. In order to ensure the proper amount is paid and activated in a timely manner, first create a profile at US visa Service website and choose the Schedule Appointment option. On the payment confirmation screen you will be presented with payment options and further details of how to initiate payment. The fee is good for a year from the date of payment. You must take an appointment within a year for your visa interview.

Step 4. Take appointment for visa interview

After you pay the fees, you will have to schedule 2 appointments as part of the visa process. The two-part appointment process consists of an appointment with one of the five Offsite Facilitation Center (OFC) to give Biometrics information that includes fingerprinting and photograph, and second an appointment with the Consulate or Embassy for a personal visa interview.

Step 5. US Visa Fingerprinting at Visa Application Center (VAC)

After taking appointment with the consulate or embassy for personal interview, schedule the fingerprinting appointment at least a day or two before the interview at the consulate.

Step 6. Go for visa interview at designated US consulate

On the day and time of your appointment for interview, go to the consulate where your interview is scheduled. Carry all mandatory and supporting documents and originals. (Sources OWN)

WHAT ARE THE TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR USA?

Most U.S. colleges and universities will require that both undergraduate and graduate students applying for admission take one or more additional tests such as GRE, GMAT or SAT and English Language tests, such as TOEFL or IELTS before they can be considered for admission.

For Undergraduate admissions, required standardized tests usually include.

1 ) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with minimum 61 score out of 120. This exam score is valid for 2 years.  OR

2) International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with minimum 5.5 band out of 9. This exam score is valid for 2 years. OR

3) Pearson Test of English (PTE) with minimum 43 score out of 90. This exam score is valid for 1 year.

4) Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT). This exam is not mandatory to get admission from most of the universities. We at Kanan, highly recommend to every student to give this exam because by getting good score in SAT, student have maximum chances to get good amount of scholarship, higher chances to get admission in public university & also enjoy high visa success ratio. Student need to score 1100+ out of 1600. This exam score in valid for 5 years.

For Graduate and Professional admissions, required tests usually include

1) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
with minimum 71-80 score out of 120. This exam score is valid for 2 years.  OR

2) International English Language Testing System (IELTS). with minimum 6.0-6.5 band out of 9 This exam score is valid for 2 years. OR

3) Pearson Test of English (PTE) with minimum 53 score out of 90. This exam score is valid for 1 year.

4) Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) : This exam is given by the students who are from science, engineering, mathematics, technology field. Need to score around 292+ out of 340. This exam score is valid for 5 years.

5) Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) : This exam is given by students who wants to any business program or MBA. Need to score 500+ out of 800. This exam score is valid for 5 years.

WHAT ARE THE VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDY IN USA?

As an International student intending to study in the U.S.A., you will need to acquire a U.S.A. student visa from a U.S. Embassy near you. The U.S. Embassies in India are located in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai. The type of visa granted to you will depend on the purpose of your visit to the U.S. For academic purposes, students will need to obtain an F1-class U.S.A. student visa.

Applying for the F-1 student visa, you will be required to pay a non-refundable visa application fee of $160. Visa fees can be paid thought Mobile Payments-IMPS, National Electronics Funds Transfer –NEFT, Cash- Over the counter at Any AXIS or CITI Bank. There is an online visa application available, which allows you to complete and print the Form DS-160 to take to your F-1 visa interview. You can fill up your DS 160 online from https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/.

You can able to book the visa date after 5-6 hours of visa fees payment. You need to book two dates, first for OFC, on this date your finger print & photos will be taken then, 2nd date for Interview, on this date your interview will be taken by Visa officer. For Student visa, you must need to select English language for interview. All student also need to pay SEVIS fee on www.fmjfee.com before going for interview.
