MONTREAL is the economic and cultural centre of Quebec and the second largest city of Canada.
Connected via major airlines across the globe, Montréal is only an hour and a half from New York City, two hours from Chicago, and six hours from London.
The city sits on the island 40 km Long and roughly 15 km wide.
It is also the second-largest French-speaking city after Paris.
Two-thirds of the city's 3.5 million people are French, the other third being immigrants including British, Europeans, Chinese, Italians, Indians etc.
The result is a truly multidimensional city, with a global variety of eateries, bars and clubs and festivals that makes this the most vibrant place in Canada.
It combines some of the finest aspects of the two continents- American and European. Its North American skyline of glass and concrete buildings rise above churches and monuments of European style.
One of the most fascinating attractions of Montréal is its unique underground city extending over an area of approximately 30 kilometers. In fact, this underground city is the largest in the world. In Montréal it is possible to live, work, eat, entertain yourself and others, exercise and probably do any other activity you can think of entirely underground.
Montréal hosts over 40 festivals every year, celebrating music, food, film, and performance, as well as snow, light and laughter and visitors come for sporting and arts events.
The seasons are temperate but winter is on much colder side.
