Scope FAQs

The Society for Creation of Opportunity  through Proficiency in English (SCOPE) has been setup by the Government of  Gujarat to build English language proficiency in the youth of Gujarat and  thereby provide employment opportunities for the youth.
We - Inter Human Education and Charitable are the Zonal Partners of SCOPE - Govt. of Gujarat.

What will you learn from this course?

The  English language Programme is being developed on the Common European Framework  which is as follows:

COUNCIL OF EUROPE LEVELS
C2 (ALTE 5)
C1 (ALTE 4)
B2 (ALTE 3)
B1 (ALTE 2)
A2 (ALTE 1)
A1 (ALTE BREAKTHROUGH)

Level  I to V of the SCOPE's Programme will map to the levels A1 to C1 of the common European Framework. Out of which levels I, II and III will be available at all  centers and levels IV and V will be available to the select few centers which  demonstrate the competency to deliver the Programme successfully. Levels IV and  V will be launched after six months of the launch of the Programme.

Format of SCOPE
Each level covers the following learning areas: listening, reading, speaking and  grammar. Within each learning area there are a range of online tools designed  to provide students with the pedagogical support needed to effectively and  independently work in that learning area; for example, the audio version of  written texts, the translation option, the dictionary, and the visual aids.
Listening
The listening section is designed to enhance students' comprehension of aural input  through exposure to a variety of listening segments (video clips, television shows, radio programs, voicemail messages, etc.).
Reading
The reading section is designed to expose students to different text types (stories, ads, letters, postcards and articles) with emphasis on reading strategies: guessing words from context identifying main idea, keywords, etc.
Speaking
The Speaking section consists of real life dialogues set in everyday situations, with an emphasis on functional language for daily use.
Grammar
The Grammar section introduces the grammatical structures in context and provides  practice in them. Animated, humorous examples illustrate the use of the grammatical  structures and facilitate their acquisition. Explanations and examples are also  provided.
About Cambridge ESOL
The assessment partner in this programme is Cambridge ESOL. Cambridge ESOL exams are the world's leading range of certificates for learners of English. Each year they are taken by over 1.75 million people, in 135 countries. They can help you gain entrance to a university or college, improve your job prospects and measure your progress in English. The Cambridge ESOL examinations are recognized by thousands of employers, universities & colleges, professional bodies and ministry & government organizations throughout  the world.
They are linked to the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) levels and  to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and are the only certificated examinations referred to in the framework document as specifically linked to it by a long-term research  programme. They can open doors to higher education, improve job prospects and, because the qualifications are so well known globally, increase mobility.
